JOB DESCRIPTION

A Meter Reader is a professional responsible for recording utility consumption levels by manually inspecting meters at residential, commercial, or industrial locations. This role is common in the utility sector, particularly for electricity, gas, and water companies. Meter Readers play a vital role in accurately measuring and recording usage for billing purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS

No academic qualifications are required. Training is typically provided on-the-job. This may be supplemented by specialised training courses within larger agencies. To become a bailiff, you will need to be certified, which includes an enhanced DBS check.

TASKS
